Contents of Unit 1
This unit is divided into two sections: a theoretical framework and accompanying practical considerations (each set coming in independent Max file patchers). In the theoretical section, we review Max's environment and the principles behind Max programming; we incorporate a number of basic objects and operations and discuss the rules of message ordering in a Max circuit. To move beyond theory, the practical section provides multiple examples and exercises drawn from disciplines as diverse as mathematics, logic, computer science and acoustics, which will familiarize you with the rules and principles covered in the theoretical overview.
